Fish Burger





I say: 'NO!' to junk food. But when it comes to such home made fast food it is something quite different :) Then we can choose a lot of possibilities and options to experiment with. Because even the simplest dish tastes different when you add to it, "something from your heart". Under this rule I always try to make dishes much more interesting as much as possible for example by add new components to eliminate the other, without a passive mapping rules found here and there. And this creativity makes the result nice when I prepared my meals (everyone, even the crooked ones), then smile, because I know that it was I contributed to it :)


And burgers? Well, it came out perfectly :) The version I created with fish and with plenty of fresh vegetables, which I like like I would be a rabbit. Recipe for these rolls I`m going to use certainly also next time, cause it is so soft and delicate that eating them, not even thought about the calories. Anyway, what is it?! :)




Ingredients for two large rolls:

  • 3 / 4 glass of warm water
  • 7 g of dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 glass of plain flour

In a large bowl mix yeast with warm water and honey. Now add oil, salt and gradually add flour, stirring constantly. Make dough thoroughly until it is soft and flexible, then shape into a ball of dough and put in a warm place to double in volume.


When dough is fluffy divide it into two equal parts. From each of them create a long, flat loaf.


On top of rolls:

  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons of poppy seeds
  • 1 / 2 teaspoon of salt

Thus prepared rolls, brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with poppy seeds and salt, and when it`s done, insert into pre-heated to 180C oven and bake for about 20min.


Ingredients to prepare the fish:

  • 2 fillets of white fish
  • 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons of herbs de Provence
  • bread crumbs

Rinsed fillets brush evenly with mustard, then dip them in beaten egg with herbs. Now sprinkle it with bread crumbs in a bowl and fry until golden brown.




Ingredients for the preparation fish burgers for 2 persons:

  • 2 longitudinal rolls
  • 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 2 warm fried fish fillets
  • 2 tablespoons of French mustard
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 tomatoes
  • ketchup
  • 2 small cucumbers
  • pepper
  • 8 slices of cheese

Cut rolls along and then arrange layers as you wish with the ingredients.




Suggestions: I served it with salted chips what was proudly! If you prefer smaller portions, just before baking the dough shape into smaller rolls and cut fish fillets into smaller pieces before put it into the beaten egg.


Question: Why the more fat fish are healthier?
Answer: Because the fat of fish contains omega-3 which prevents illness from heart disease, by reducing the so-called bad cholesterol while raising good one. The richest of these valuable fatty acids are sea fish.
