Oatmeal Truffles

These small balls for the first time I ate while in Brussels and already from the beginning I liked it so much. Soft, creamy inside, in various flavors, glazes and sprinkles. Extremely delicious and effectively addictive. These are the truffles which I prepared specially for our Poker Night. Half of them disappeared even before the start of the game, that`s why there left only a few managed to keep to photos and just after taking these pics, devour the rest of those delicious litle oatmeal truffles... :)

Ingredients for about 30 truffles:

  • 80g of butter
  • 3 / 4 cup of sugar
  • 2.5 cups of oatmeal
  • 8 biscuits
  • 100g cocoa powder
  • 50ml orange liqueur
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • 50ml of milk

For topping:

  • Colourful sprinkles
  • cocoa powder

Gradually add the butter, sugar, cereals, broken biscuits, cocoa liqueur, honey and milk to melting butter, stirring constantly, until batter will be very thick and you will be able to form balls by your hands.

Ready balls rolled individually in sprinkles or cocoa powder in a bowl. Then put them in the refrigerator about 20 minutes before serving.

Suggestions: Instead of orange liqueur you can use any alcohol. I also recommend adding to the center of truffles peanut, raisin or a piece of marshmallows. If the batter is too liquid - add more oatmeal or cocoa. Store in refrigerator.

Question: In what I should coat truffles?
Answer: The flouring plants are great also finely chopped nuts, especially pistachio because of the color, but also powdered sugar (which, however, after some time can looks like "fade away" by absorbing it by your truffle). Truffles can also coated in melted chocolate!
