Cocoa and Gingerbread Apple Pie

This cocoa apple pie with gingerbread spice is just another version of cinnamon and honey apple pie with beesIt also has a delicious smell, especially when you eat it when it`s heated up with cooled and thick sour cream asideThis is my favorite cake everAnd which version do you preferhoney `n cinnamon or cocoa `n gingerbread:)

Ingredients for the cocoa-gingerbread cake:
  • 4 tablespoons of thick sour cream 12%
  • 1 / 2 cup of sugar
  • 8g of vanilla sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons of gingerbread spice
  • 3 tbsp of cocoa
  • 500g of plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
Connect everything together on a smooth, slightly sticky dough. Half of it lay on the bottom of your baking tin.

Ingredients to prepare apples for this apple pie:
  • 10 apples
  • 2 tablespoonsof  honey
  • 1 / 2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of gingerbread spice
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
Wash applespeel and cut into arbitrary pieces. In a bowl mix together chopped apples, honey, cinnamon, gingerbread spice and sugar. Now, put all this stuff on a bottom of your unbaked cake and after that coat it with the rest of the dough (You can use a small part of the dough for making some stars with cookie cutters for the top of cakes).

Ingredients for the top:
  • 1 egg white
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 / 2 teaspoon of cinnamon
Mix egg whites with a fork. Brush the top of the dough with it. Now, mix sugar with cinnamon and sprinkle it on the cake. Bake for about 40 minutes at 180C.

Suggestions: You can mix apples with pears and ginger instead of gingerbread spice - it will be nice fall combination!

Light version: Do not add sugar to the filling of apples and sweet sprinkles on the top.

Question: What are the most suited kinds of apples to this apple pie?
Answer: I recommen Ligol - are slightly acidic, juicy, firm and deliciously sweet.
